Colonial hostess; daughter of Johannes and Elizabeth (Staats) Schuyler. Married Philip Schuyler (1696-1758) 1720 December 29. Settled with husband on Hudson River north of Albany, N.Y. Home became meeting place for provincial aristocracy, British officers, and tradesmen. Became an unofficial political and military adviser to English officials. Loyalist during American Revolution.
